What I thought would be an average read really peaked my interest. This book is full of facts, figures and great pictures and the research that went into it is incredible. If you have any interest in ships or are a dive person, don't wait to read this one.
It is nice to know that there are people who care about these long dead ships. They are a part not only of WW2 history, but world history as well. They remind us of the sacrifices made to overcome evil. They also remind us that tyranny must be resisted at all costs, for freedom to reign in this world. Many of these wrecks are in remarkedly good shape for being at the ocean bottom for seventy years. The men who seek out these vessels, deserve a vote of thanks, for bringing this part of history back into the light. I for one hope that these men will continue to seek out these ships. JRV
This ia a good and entertaining book. The background story associated with each wreck helps to place the ship in it's proper historical niche. There are a few repeating date mix ups but, they are a passing distraction. I very much recommend this book.
I'm not a diver, so I can't comment on the usefulness to divers, but I really enjoyed this book. The author gives a good history of each ship and then describes the wreck and its condition. It's also nice to see the ships before and after their sinkings.
